August 3 - August 5 : Cleveland – Fundamentals of Commercial and Industrial Lighting Applications conference. August 10 - August 11 : Peachtree City, Ga. – LED Exterior Lighting Design Solutions workshop. Community-responsive design plus the basics of area, roadway, and floodlighting are examined as well as current lamp technologies during this session at Cooper Lighting’s SOURCE. September 8 - September 10 : Somerset, N.J. – NCQLP Exam Review. This three-day workshop is designed to help participants prepare for the LC exam in November. Held at the Philips’ Lighting Application Center, the course focuses on study and exam-taking strategies, analysis, and practice of typical questions and key topics in the design process as well as a review of technology, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis. At the end of the sessions, students should be able to identify strengths and weaknesses covered in the exam. Participants are expected to secure the recommended texts for the exam and begin the study process. Fee: $525. September 22 - September 25 : Toronto – IIDEX/NEOCON Canada. A new floor plan is enlivening this show, held at the Direct Energy Centre. Running concurrently are Light Canada – in partnership with the Illuminating Engineering Society, Toronto Section – and the Green Building Festival. Light Canada provides 100+ exhibitors offering LED and sustainable lighting designs as well as new materials and advances in design.
