When designing the interior for the new R.sole high-end shoe store in St. Louis, the Manhattan-based architectural design firm Tobin+Parnes Design Enterprises opted to create a hip, nightclub atmosphere. By displaying sneakers as if they were art objects –with the help of niches that are backlit with color-changing LEDs – the design team offered an innovative approach to establishing retail ambiance.
